Overland Park Soccer Complex

Soccer is the #1 participation sports amongst kids. It also has the most kid participation per capita in Kansas City than any other city in the United States. The problem was, Kansas City didn’t have a state of the art complex for local teams to play on or hold regional/national tournaments. That changed when Overland Park decided to invest in a $40 million dollar complex with 12 artificial fields. In the first year they had over half a million spectators and players visit the complex and hosted over 20 tournaments included the Youth Nationals.

Leap Hospitality was hired to help develop the food and beverage operations of the complex. We were tasked to develop a concept that provided a healthy alternative to families and players while keeping overhead costs low. We developed the most green kitchen in the state (no hoods or fryers!) while maintaining food quality and diverse menu selection. Leap was asked to stay on to help run the complex in its first year of operation and also work on branding and sponsorships/ The Pepsi CornerKick Café was born.
